Will You Pray for Us?

Church had concluded for the morning, and my family and I only had an hour to eat lunch before we needed to return for a meeting. This was going to be a fast food type of lunch.

Our primary choice had not opened their dining room and was only accepting drive-thru customers due to low staffing. Therefore, we had to see an alternative. We ended up opting for Wendy’s. After all, who doesn’t look forward to a frosty now and again?

We had finished our meal, and I returned to the counter to order our dessert when the manager, who was operating the register, asked if we had gone to church. I responded that we did, and I asked him the same. He responded that he’d like to, but the restaurant requires him to work most Sunday mornings. I asked him where he went to church on his Sunday’s off to which he shook his head and reported that he had not attended church in quite a while. He continued by acknowledging that he should be attending, but it hadn’t really been a priority lately.

The manager then requested that I remember his team of workers in my prayers. He was proud of their enthusiasm, effort, and quality in serving their customers. He wanted prayers of blessings for them.

I responded that I would be delighted to, and I then asked if I could pray for them right there. He enthusiastically agreed. So, I placed my hand on his shoulder and proceeded to pray for him and his team. As I prayed, you could hear him continue to whisper, “Yes, father. Yes.”

I was asked just yesterday, “If Christians have the truth, and if God intends for us to share it, why doesn’t He lead the lost to knock down our doors so that we can share the truth with them?” Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen too often. But sometimes…it does.
